Royal British Legion

Helping endangered animals in Africa

The Armed Forces make a huge contribution to everyday life.

Serving personnel are mobilised during natural disasters, terrorist attacks, humanitarian and environmental crises and as a peacekeeping force around the world. Since 2017 a new counter-poaching task force has trained more than 120 rangers to protect endangered wildlife in Malawi.

As part of a series of films illustrating how the Armed Forces support civilians every day, we filmed Captain Tony Viney and asked him about his role in helping tackle poaching.

Our Armed Forces support us every day and The Royal British Legion will always support them. Find out how and read Tony’s story here ➡️ www.britishlegion.org.uk/stories/army-anti-poaching
