Normandy Motorcycles

Hound Dog have recently produced a short film for Normandy Motorcycles to promote their business on their website.
Produced to a very tight budget and timescale, it’s the story of two partners who have successfully run their business for a number of years, creating a loyal client base.

We’ve been developing a story-telling approach to our films for a while now. Story-telling through video is a great way to captivate and inspire.

Rather than telling the audience what to think, narrative video draws the audience in and keeps people engaged, motivated and entertained.

Founded in 1960 by brothers Brian and Mike Garbutt, it quickly gained a reputation for providing first class motorbike servicing and repairs. Now run by Brian’s son Pete in partnership with Jason Crow, Normandy Motorcycles continues in its tradition of knowledgeable, friendly and reliable service.

It’s an old school business, but a vital one, providing an important niche service for motorcycle owners and a personal level of service that the ‘big boys’ can’t achieve. Business partners Peter Garbutt and Jason Crow are the very essence of Normandy Motorcycles, so it was important to capture the ethos of their business through their own personal stories. The result is an honest and engaging film, full of character and a sense of place, that appeals to a wide target audience.

Audience reach was maximized with the help of social media. The film has been viewed in over 70 countries in the first few weeks of its release alone – it’s especially popular in Spain, the States and Argentina and even Biscuit the Dog is attracting his own fans.

Normandy Motorcycles works because it provokes an emotional response from its audience. Harness that human dimension and you’re well on the way to creating engaging content that will connect you with your audience.
